SAG-AFTRA Health Plan’s Temporary COVID Relief Premium Update

The Trustees have extended the Temporary COVID Relief Premium that was scheduled to end on March 31, 2022 through June 30, 2022 to qualified participants who lost Active coverage July 1, 2021 or October 1, 2021.

You are eligible for this three-month temporary benefit extension if you meet the requirements outlined below:

•Your Active coverage ended July 1, 2021

  • You had at least $13,000 in reported covered earnings during your most recent base earnings period (April 1, 2020 - March 31, 2021)

OR

  • You worked at least 50 eligibility days and are losing coverage based on alternative days eligibility AND qualified for coverage based on the alternative days eligibility rule during your most recent coverage period (April 1, 2020 - March 31, 2021)

•Your Active coverage ended October 1, 2021

  • You had at least at least $20,000 in reported covered earnings during your most recent base earnings period (July 1, 2020 - June 30, 2021)

OR

  • You worked at least 75 eligibility days and are losing coverage based on alternative days eligibility AND qualified for coverage based on the alternative days eligibility rule during your most recent coverage period (October 1, 2020 - September 30, 2021)

What if I didn't enroll in COBRA?

I am enrolled in COBRA but I don’t fall into either of the groups listed above. How do I find out what my premium rates and eligibility are?

Check Benefits Manager for the most up-to-date information on your premiums and eligibility. You will also receive a personalized letter in the next couple of weeks telling you what your new premium will be and giving you other options if you choose not to stay enrolled in COBRA.
