| MARRIAGE |
Marriage is one of the most important of all the great events of life. As such, make sure you and your spouse get a good start on your new life. It would be easy to overlook the many legal and financial implications of the change from single to married status. The couple must deal with extensive planning, emotional turmoil, and minor and major lifestyle changes. In the long run, though, it is easier on both people if several benefit plan issues are addressed early on. Please review the issues below and perhaps you will browse our related web links.

Benefit Plan Issues
-
You must complete a new Performer Information Form and include proof of the marriage. This must be done within 30 days of the marriage in order to ensure Health Plan coverage for your new spouse. Valid proof is a copy of the marriage certificate. Click here to download a blank Performer Information Form.
- You should review your designations of beneficiary on both the Pension and Health Plans.
-
Review the rules for coordination of benefits. Coordination of benefits rules govern how each plan will pay for health coverage if each spouse has group health insurance. Click here to view the relevant section of the plan summary.
-
Review the rules for pre-retirement death benefits from the Pension Plan. You should be aware that the rules for married persons are different from those for single persons. When you get married, your spouse gains certain rights with regard to these benefits. Click here to review the pertinent section of the pension plan summary.
