Long-Term Care
Coverage Choices

What are my coverage choices?

When you apply for coverage, you will first choose a Nursing Home Daily Maximum Benefit (DMB) amount. The Nursing Home DMB is the most the insurance may pay for covered services received in a licensed nursing home on any day.

Each Nursing Home DMB has a corresponding Home Health Care DMB. Up to 60% of the Nursing Home DMB may be applied to the costs of covered services received in the insured's home on any day.

In addition, each DMB has two corresponding Lifetime Maximum Benefits (LMB), of which you will choose one. The LMB is the total pool of money payable for covered long-term care services received while you are insured.

The premium rates for these options are based on your issue age when you apply. So the younger you are, the lower your rates will be.
